Resize Images Without Losing Quality
When you resize an image, the browser recomputes every pixel using high-quality smoothing. To get the smallest possible file with the best visual result, keep Lock Aspect Ratio enabled, avoid upscaling small images, and choose a JPG quality of around 80–90% for photographs. Use PNG when you need crisp graphics or transparent backgrounds, and WEBP when you want the best size-to-quality ratio for the web.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Image Resizer really free?
Yes. The tool is completely free to use, with no sign-up, no account, no watermark, and no hidden limits. You can resize as many images as you like.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Every step — opening the file, resizing, and exporting — happens inside your browser using JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas API. Your image data never leaves your device.
Which image formats are supported?
You can upload JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WEBP. You can also export the resized result as JPG, PNG, or WEBP regardless of the source format.
Will resizing reduce image quality?
Downscaling uses high-quality smoothing, so the resized image looks crisp. PNG keeps full lossless quality. JPG and WEBP let you trade a small amount of quality for a much smaller file size using the quality slider.
What does Lock Aspect Ratio do?
When enabled, changing the width automatically updates the height (and vice versa) to keep the original proportions. This prevents the image from looking stretched or squashed. Turn it off only if you intentionally want to crop or distort.
Can I convert a transparent PNG to JPG?
Yes. Because JPG does not support transparency, this tool automatically composites your image on a clean white background before exporting. Your transparent areas will appear white in the resulting JPG.
Is there a file size or resolution limit?
You can upload images up to 50 MB. Extremely large images (for example above 8000 × 8000 pixels) may take a few extra seconds to process because everything runs locally in your browser.
